About Us
The Kobe University UNESCO Chair on Education for Gender, Disaster Resilience, and Well-being promotes education as a transformative tool for building inclusive, resilient, and sustainable societies. Launched in 2018 and entering its third phase in 2026, the Chair integrates gender equality, disaster risk reduction, and well-being into education, research, and practice.
Through international collaboration, capacity building, and community-based research, the Chair connects global frameworks such as the SDGs and the Sendai Framework with local knowledge and educational practice. Its work focuses on advancing gender equality, strengthening disaster resilience, and promoting the well-being of individuals and communities, particularly among marginalized and vulnerable groups.
